Before starting, make sure you have all the necessary tools and materials for the job. You will need the following:

Oil filter

Socket wrench and socket set

Oil filter wrench

Step 2: Prepare the bike for the oil change

Make sure the bike is on a flat surface and is cool to the touch. Remove any accessories or covers that may obstruct access to the engine oil drain plug and oil filter.

Step 3: Drain the old engine oil

Locate the engine oil drain plug and place the drain pan underneath it. Using a socket wrench and socket, loosen the drain plug and let the old oil drain into the pan. Once all the oil has drained, remove the oil filter using an oil filter wrench and let any remaining oil drain into the pan.

Step 4: Replace the oil filter

Clean the oil filter mounting surface with a clean rag, and apply a thin layer of new engine oil to the rubber gasket of the new oil filter. Install the new oil filter by hand, and then tighten it by hand until it is snug. Do not overtighten the oil filter.

Step 5: Refill with new engine oil

Refer to the owner's manual for the recommended amount of engine oil and oil viscosity. Using a funnel, slowly pour the new engine oil into the oil filler hole. Check the oil level with the dipstick, and add more oil if necessary.

Step 6: Start the engine and check for leaks

Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks around the oil filter and drain plug. If everything looks good, turn off the engine and let it cool down for a few minutes.

Step 7: Check the oil level and clean up

Check the oil level with the dipstick and add more oil if necessary. Wipe down any excess oil with a clean rag, and dispose of the old oil and filter properly.
